After each meeting or update, you receive a short written note. Nothing is left to memory or assumption.
Where a matter could reasonably be resolved without court proceedings, we say so plainly and explain the alternatives.
Advice and representation in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin — whichever feels most natural to you.
Appointments at the office in Alor Setar, at a client's home or by video — and Saturday mornings for those who work weekdays.
Each service has a stated price. If the scope changes, you are told before any additional cost is incurred.
Family matters are sensitive. Everything discussed stays within the office, in line with our professional obligations.
Not sure where to start?
A one-hour session is often enough to understand what you are dealing with and what, if anything, needs to happen next. There is no pressure to proceed further.
Questions people usually ask
How long does a divorce take in Malaysia?
This depends on whether both parties agree and whether there are disputes over children, property or maintenance. Uncontested matters typically complete in six to nine months from the date of filing; contested proceedings can take longer. At the first meeting we will give you a more specific estimate based on your situation.
Do I need to come to the office?
No. Appointments are available at the office in Alor Setar, at a client's home in Kedah, or by video call. Saturday mornings can be arranged for those who cannot attend during the working week.
Can I handle some of the process myself to reduce costs?
Yes. The document drafting service exists for exactly this purpose. We prepare the papers and explain the filing steps; you handle the filing. If the matter turns out to be more complex than expected, we will say so before doing additional work.
What languages do you work in?
Advice, meetings and written notes are available in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin. Choose whichever feels most comfortable.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. Legal professional privilege applies to all communications between you and the office. Nothing you share is passed to a third party without your consent, except as required by law.
What does the one-hour session cover?
It covers your current situation, what the law says, and what your realistic options are — including doing nothing for now. You receive a written summary of the points discussed and a note of any documents worth gathering. There is no obligation to engage us further.
What happens to children's arrangements during proceedings?
Existing arrangements generally continue until a court makes a formal order. Where there is an urgent concern, we can advise on interim applications. This is one of the areas we cover in detail during a full representation engagement or the advice session.
